EGA’s Youth Council holds appreciation days for support workers to mark Year of Tolerance

United Arab Emirates: Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas, today announced that its Youth Council has hosted appreciation days at its sites in Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah for more than 700 support workers to mark the Year of Tolerance.

EGA’s Youth Council was established in 2018 to enable the company’s younger employees develop into innovative leaders and pacesetters for change in the nation.

The appreciation days were organised to recognise the contributions to EGA’s success of people working in support functions like catering and cleaning.

EGA Youth Council members served lunch to their support colleagues and organised a series of games and competitions.

Fatma Al Bastaki, Chairperson of EGA’s Youth Council, said: “These colleagues support everyone else at work every day. They have all come to the UAE from other countries to do this work, many leaving their families in their home countries. Appreciation days are an opportunity for us to say thank you for their dedication and contribution to EGA.”

EGA employs more than 7,000 people in the UAE, from more than 50 countries.
