EGA’s primed for ARABAL 2014 in Bahrain

Strong presence from UAE aluminium giant at international industry conference

United Arab Emirates: Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) will again underline its commitment to the development of the Middle East as a global aluminium hub through its participation as Silver Sponsor at the 18th Arab International Aluminium Conference (“ARABAL”) in Manama, Bahrain from 25 to 27 November.

Hosted and organised by Aluminium Bahrain (“ALBA”), ARABAL 2014 is expected to attract upwards of 600 delegates, most of whom are key decision-makers in the global aluminium industry. Among those delivering speeches at the conference will be EGA’s Abdulla Kalban (MD & CEO), Frank Briganti (Senior Vice President, EHSFS) and Walid Al Attar (Chief Marketing Officer). In addition, EGA will have an exhibition stand in the Gulf Pavilion, which will offer the organisation a platform to showcase its brand, technology, values and vision, while networking with existing and potential new suppliers and customers.

Through its midstream assets – Dubai Aluminium (“DUBAL”) and Emirates Aluminium (“EMAL”) – EGA has been involved in the ARABAL Conferences since the inaugural event in 1983. DUBAL has hosted the event in Dubai on four occasions (including ARABAL’s 25th anniversary in 2008), while EMAL hosted the event in Abu Dhabi in 2013. Moreover, EGA representatives serve on the ARABAL Forum, a committee of representatives from the Gulf’s primary aluminium producers tasked with organising the ARABAL events.

Commenting on EGA’s on-going commitment to and involvement in ARABAL Abdulla Kalban (MD & CEO) said, “The Middle East plays an important role in the global industry; and at EGA, we are strongly committed to the development of the industry at regional and international level. With our investments in the midstream and upstream sectors of the primary aluminium value chain, we have a vested interest in knowledge-sharing and benchmarking to maintain the continuous improvement that is vital for our sustained success. The ARABAL events are renowned for providing an excellent forum for this purpose.”
