EGA welcomed customers from around the world during 2016 Omega DDC
Corporate sponsorship leveraged to strengthen partnership-based relationships
United Arab Emirates, 08 February 2016: Customers of Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) from around the world visited Dubai recently to attend a series of events that coincident with the 2016 Omega Dubai Desert Classic (“the Omega DDC”). A sponsor of the Omega DDC since 1992, EGA has leveraged the tournament for the past 25 years to solidify and build on relationships with key global partners. This has been achieved by hosting guests at the golf, offering an entertaining social programme (including the annual EGA Golf Day), conducting tours of its EGA Jebel Ali and EGA Al Taweelah operations, and holding numerous business-related meetings.
The latter included the annual EGA Customer Meeting, held on 7 February at Madinat Jumeirah. The keynote address was given by Abdulla Kalban (MD & CEO: EGA), who reflected on the successes of the past and shared some of EGA’s future plans The programme also included updates on EGA’s products and production facilities, and progress reports on its capital projects.
The 2016 Omega DDC - which took place from 4 to 7 February - saw top names from the international golfing community compete on the championship golf course, ultimately concluding in a triumphant victory for Danny Willet. The prize-giving ceremony on the final day included a special moment for EGA, marked by the presentation of an honorary award to mark the company’s 25 consecutive years of sponsoring the event.
