EGA supports UAE's Rich cultural heritage during Ramadan
Aluminium giant is exclusive sponsor of Emirates Heritage Club’s Al Samha Ramadan Festival for fourth time
United Arab Emirates, 06 June 2016: Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”), widely acknowledged as the UAE’s industrial flagship, is again the exclusive sponsor of the 2016 Al Samha Ramadan Festival, organised by the Al Samha branch of Emirates Heritage Club (“EHC”) – having previously sponsored the event in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (Representative of the UAE President and Chairman of ECH), the annual Al Samha Ramadan Festival targets the country’s youth generation and aims to educate them about the UAE’s traditions and heritage.
Held coincident with the holy month of Ramadan, this year’s Al Samha Ramadan Festival will take place from 8 to 23 June. The event will feature a number of family activities including a football tournament, wrestling, traditional games, as well as a group Iftar and a visit to Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. A raffle-draw, with prizes sponsored by EGA, will also be held daily throughout the community festival.
Commenting on EGA’s sponsorship, Abdulla Kalban (MD & CEO) said, “EGA is committed to being a good corporate citizen by investing meaningfully in the communities where we operate, with a particular focus on sporting, educational and cultural activities that benefit the youth. We are equally committed to supporting the broader socio-economic goals of the UAE government. By partnering with Emirates Heritage Club for the Al Samha Ramadan Festival, we achieve both ambitions – especially as educating the next generation on the UAE’s rich cultural traditions and heritage is key to realising the UAE government’s vision to preserve this legacy for generations to come.”
Through its subsidiary Emirates Aluminium (“EMAL”), EGA has actually been engaged in a long-standing strategic partnership with EHC since 2008, primarily through various sporting and educational activities with schools. In addition, EGA was the main sponsor for the 2014 and 2015 National Day events in Al Rahba in cooperation with EHC, Seha, Al Rahba police, KIZAD and Abu Dhabi Municipality.
