EGA sponsors World Future Energy Summit 2015

Sixth Year of Support For WEFS From UAE Aluminium Giant

United Arab Emirates, 18 January 2015: UAE aluminium giant Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) will play a pivotal role as Associate Sponsor when the World Future Energy Summit (“WFES”) 2015 is hosted by Masdar at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 19 to 22 January.

More than 30,000 delegates from 170 countries representing expertise from industry, technology, finance and government will attend an event widely considered the world’s foremost summit dedicated to renewable energies, clean technologies and energy efficiency.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, WFES is a key part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2015. While the summit enjoyed sponsorship support from Emirates Aluminium (“EMAL”, an operating subsidiary of EGA) from 2009 to 2014, WFES 2015 is sponsored under the EGA brand.

“Although this is our first year of sponsorship as EGA, as an organisation we have a long and solid relationship with WFES,”said Abdulla Kalban (Managing Director and CEO at EGA). “The summit reflects many of our core values and our commitment to pillars of sustainability and environmental protection. As an organisation, we aim to excel in all our areas of operation through continuous improvement and innovation, while we are also strongly committed to deploying the most sustainable technologies available, reducing total emissions and adopting global best practices for the environment management systems at our operations.”

As an Associate Sponsor of the WFES 2015, EGA will use its presence at the summit and associated exhibition to create greater brand awareness and engage with business leaders in the renewable energy, energy smart technology and environment sectors.
