United Arab Emirates, 10 November 2021: Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas, has sponsored Emirates Environmental Group’s annual aluminium can collection drive, and collected cans on its sites.

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of EGA, said: “EGA has been the lead sponsor since 2011 of the Emirates Environmental Group’s annual campaign to encourage the collection and recycling of used aluminium cans in the UAE. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable – one reason why as a material it plays an important role in the development of a more sustainable society. Throwing aluminium cans in the trash is a waste of resources we need, and is bad for the planet. This campaign helps all of us in the UAE change our behaviour for the better.”

Additionally, EGA employees participated in Emirates Environmental Group’s ‘One Root, One Communi-tree’ campaign and collected 660 kilogrammes of paper and 140 kilogrammes of toner cartridges. The campaign is designed to educate the community about the value of recycling these materials.
