EGA promotes rich traditions through Abu Dhabi festival 2016
Aluminium giant partners with ADMAF to bring arts and culture to the community
United Arab Emirates, 17 April 2016: Ever-keen to invest in the UAE's socio-economic growth and development by supporting both community-based initiatives and the broader goals of the UAE government.
Renownedas the UAE’s leading celebration of arts and culture, the Abu Dhabi Festival comprises a range of educational and community programmes that bring together artists, students, community groups and cultural organisations from across the UAE in support of emerging Emirati talent. The annual festival – heldunder the patronage of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan (UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) – also advocates the importance of arts and culture in all aspects of UAE life.
EGA’s collaborative investment has been dedicated to two key ADMAF initiatives:
“Music in Hospitals” sessions, where talented young Emirati and non-Emirati musicians performed for over 750 patients in hospitals in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah from 3 to 7 April 2016. Music-related activities are well documented and scientifically proven powerful therapeutic methods to stimulate cognitive skills of the disabled and aid the healing process of the sick. The “Music in Hospitals” performances served to enrich the life of patients while providing opportunities for community development between the patients, their families and healthcare staff.
“The Wings of Life” theatre performances by Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. A fantasy musical performed by actors with diverse disabilities and special needs, the production will be staged for approximately 1,250 school students in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah and the Western Region from 18 to 25 April 2016.
