Flag raised in presence of management and staff

United Arab Emirates: Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) marked the 10th anniversary of accession to presidency of the country by His Highness the President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s (President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi) by raising a flag for UAE Flag Day.

Earlier this week, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai) used social media to urge people across the UAE to celebrate UAE Flag Day and the coincident anniversary. In response, UAE National employees from both of EGA’s operating assets (Emirates Aluminium – known as Al Taweelah Operations and Dubai Aluminium –– known as Jebel Ali), headed by EGA’s MD & CEO Abdulla Kalban and EGA executive management, gathered at the Jebel Ali Operations head office to raise the flag.

“We take great pride in participating in and supporting this initiative. The flag symbolises the UAE and its unity; those who raise it reflect the respect they feel for this country and their pride in its many considerable achievements over a very short period of time,” commented Kalban.

“This initiative is a sincere expression of commitment to this great country, which was established by the fathers of the nation headed by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brother the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum,” he concluded.
