EGA inspires Middle East youth at Montessori Model UN students’ conference

Aluminium giant backs tomorrow’s Middle East industry leaders

United Arab Emirates: Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) underlined its commitment to the support of educational initiatives in the Middle East by sponsoring 100 students’ attendance at the Montessori Model United Nations (“MMUN”) students’ conference held in Dubai.

Staged from 23 to 25 October at Al Ittihad Private School in Jumeirah, the conference allowed students to learn and debate the global issue of “Water”, while gaining the necessary skills and confidence to inspire them in their future education. The three-day conference was brought to a close by Dr Masood Al Rais (Senior Manager: Desalination Operations & Water Sales at EGA), who impressed upon the audience the responsibility every young person has to create a better world.

Khalid Buhumaid (Senior Vice President: Communication and Government Relations at EGA) commented: “The Middle East is one of the fastest growing economies in the world today. Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders; it is imperative that we equip them with the right tools to realise their true potential. EGA has a strong background in supporting educational initiatives across the UAE.

“We hope that by sponsoring students to attend the MMUN conference we have helped provide a memorable and rewarding experience – one which will enable them to contribute to a better society in the near future,” concluded Buhumaid.
