EGA hosts first family day

More than 10,000 employees and family members enjoy fun-filled event

United Arab Emirates: Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) hosted its first family day for employees and their relatives. Employees from both EGA Jebel Ali (Dubai Aluminium, known as “DUBAL”) and EGA Al Taweelah (Emirates Aluminium, known as “EMAL”) gathered at the company’s 480-hectate Jebel Ali smelter complex on Friday 14 November for the fun-filled EGA event.

More than 10,000 people turned up on the day, all of whom were delighted by the range of entertainment and refreshments on offer. The line-up of activities featured something for everyone to enjoy – including a rodeo bull, slides, an adventure river, mini-golf, a petting zoo and traditional activities such as henna-painting and camel rides. Live entertainment was provided by a variety of artistes from clowns to jugglers, dancers and a stand-up comedian, with on-site catering ranging from light snacks to a full buffet dinner. A spectacular fireworks display brought the action-packed day to an end.

Abdulla Kalban (Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer) said, “Our EGA Family Day pays tribute to the individuals that make up our world-class workforce. Being a global leader in the aluminium industry takes a great deal of hard work; our employees spend every working hour helping to maintain our company’s status as a leading, stable and robust enterprise. Events such as this are among the many ways that we thank them and their families for their continued dedication to EGA.”
