EGA gives supervisory staff up to six days special leave to visit Expo 2020, will pay for non-supervisory staff trips

United Arab Emirates, 27 October 2021: Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas, today announced that the company will give up to six days of special leave to supervisory staff to visit Expo 2020.

Non-supervisory employees who work on shifts will have trips to Expo 2020 paid for by EGA.

EGA has some 7,000 employees in the UAE.

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of EGA, said: “Expo 2020 is a historic event for the UAE, and visiting this world fair is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The themes of Expo 2020 align closely with EGA’s purpose of innovating aluminium to make modern life possible, and the values we share as employees including prizing sustainability and innovation. We want every member of our 7,000-strong team to learn how we fit into creating the future for the world.”

Over 80 EGA employees were selected by the Expo 2020 organisers to volunteer at the event, and are each spending two weeks on-site during the months the world fair is open.

EGA is exhibiting at Expo 2020 in the pavilion of Investment Corporation of Dubai, the company’s 50 per cent shareholder.
