EGA engages with community in spirit of Ramadan

Thousands of Iftar snack-packs to be distributed in joint initiative with Abu Dhabi police

In the spirit of Ramadan, Emirates Global Aluminium PJSC (“EGA”) will be distributing Iftar snack-packs to families and communities across Abu Dhabi for the entire holy month.

In all, some 5,000 snack-packs will be distributed to Muslim families in the communities around several police stations, which include the Al Rahba, Khalifa City, Al Mafraq and Bin Yas precincts. The distributions will take place every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday during Ramadan.

The initiative is part of an on-going partnership between EGA’s Emirates Aluminium (“EMAL”) operation in Al Taweelah and the Al Rabha police station, and forms part of EGA’s commitment to making a difference to the communities in which it operates.

Khalid Buhumaid (Senior Vice President: Communications & Government Relations at EGA) said the company has a long-standing corporate culture of caring for the people of the UAE and supporting the social development of the nation, in line with the government’s initiatives. “We believe the success of our company, and of our entire nation, is based on engaging with our society in a meaningful way. With this initiative, we want to support Muslim families as they celebrate the traditional breaking of the fast during Ramadan,” he explained.

"We also say 'Ramadan Kareem' to the entire Muslim population, both in the UAE and across the world. Our wish is that this important time in our spiritual calendar be meaningful, memorable and rewarding.”
