DUBAL notches up eighth consecutive year as Dubai Arabian Horse Championships Gold sponsor
Corporate sponsorships by primary aluminium producer showcase and promote the city of Dubai, contributing to economic development of the Emirate.
Fulfilling its corporate duty to invest in Dubai’s socio-economic growth and development by supporting both community-based initiatives and the broader goals of the Dubai Government, Dubai Aluminium PJSC (“DUBAL”) is once again the Gold sponsor of the 2014 Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship (“2014 DIAHC”), which takes place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 20 to 22 March this year. This is the eighth consecutive year that DUBAL – which is set to become an operating entity of Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”), the jointly-owned company being formed by Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and Investment Corporation of Dubai – has been the Gold sponsor of the competition, reflecting a corporate belief in the role played by major, world-class sporting events in raising the profile of Dubai on the world stage.
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance), the 2014 DIAHC event aims to showcase the beauty, agility and heritage of purebred Arabian horses. The event is strongly aligned with DUBAL’s own corporate culture of excellence through partnership, typified by absolute quality in every aspect of its business.
“Since its inception 35 years ago, DUBAL has been a significant contributor to the local economy, both directly and indirectly through the spin-off benefits of corporate expenditure within the economy,” comments Khalid E Buhumaid (DUBAL’s Vice President: Corporate Relations & International Affairs and official spokesperson). “Through sponsorships of high profile, world-class events such as the annual Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, our socio-economic development investments help raise Dubai’s reputation as a destination offering superb tourism and business infrastructure to international audiences. We also provide our company’s time, financial resources and expertise to support a broad range of community-orientated events and activities, especially in the areas of sport and education.”
