Celebrating employee excellence at EMAL’s Third FALAH Annual Corporate Award Ceremony

Awards expand to recognise growing role of women in industry and for raising company’s profile internationally

In a celebration of excellence, the top performing staff of Emirates Aluminium (“EMAL”) received awards at the 3rd FALAH Annual Corporate Award Ceremony, held at Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, on 18 March 2014. The FALAH awards acknowledge exceptional contributions and were created in 2011 by EMAL, which is set to become an operating entity of Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) – the jointly-owned, UAE-based aluminium conglomerate being formed by Mubadala Development Corporation and Investment Corporation of Dubai through the integration of their respective interests in the aluminium industry.

A total of nine winners who had gone beyond above and beyond the call of duty in pursuit of excellence were announced. In addition to the traditional FALAH Platinum, Gold and Silver, Emirati and Leader of the Year Awards, four awards were presented in two new categories namely the FALAH Honorary Awards (which were created to recognise the efforts of employees who had won awards at external events, and represented the company both in the UAE and internationally), and FALAH Female Employee of the Year Award (in recognition of the value placed on providing equal opportunities for female employees, their integral contributions and outstanding achievements).

Speaking at the ceremony Abdulla Kalban (designate CEO & MD at EGA) said: "Our employees are our most prized asset, The FALAH Awards are all about recognizing and rewarding our best employees for their exceptional achievements and excellent performances in 2013. For all the nominees and winners in the various categories, it is an opportunity for personal celebration that their individual contributions to EMAL’s success have not only been noticed, but also honoured.
