2022 winners of EGA’s Aluminium Design Challenge announced

United Arab Emirates, 25 March 2022: Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas, announced the winners of ‘The EGA Aluminium Design Challenge’, a competition for schoolchildren aimed at raising awareness about protecting the environment and the infinite recyclability of aluminium.

Organised in collaboration with the Emirates Schools Establishment, the competition required students to use recycled aluminium creatively and design purposeful models.

The three winning students are Obaid Al Zaabi from Al Ghazali school, Muath Mubarak, from Al Razi school and Rouda Al Serkal from Al Asayel school. The students were presented cash prizes on behalf of EGA by Najeeba Al Jabri, Vice President Technical. All other students received a certificate of participation.

In addition to the EGA Aluminium Design Challenge, EGA also runs an annual industrial robotics competition that aims to provide university engineering students with real-life experience of robotics, automation, and big data. Through these competitions, EGA aims to guide the development of important STEM skills for youth to support the UAE industrial sector and achieve Operation 300bn.
